No you just have to wait.
She said love don’t come easy.
It’s a game of give and take.
You can’t hurry love.
No, you just have to wait.
You got to trust, give it time.
No matter how long it takes.
Now we wait. π
William is a Toggenburg buck on loan from fellow Ballanites Pam and Tim. He came down to visit today as Anna was being a little bit noisy which can be a sign that girl goats are in heat (fertile for impregnation) and Pam and Tim were able to oblige and bring William down to service Anna. Anna was most excited to see a buck arriving and a fine specimen of a buck he looks too. William was however, less than impressed. After a few head buts and some gentle encouragement from Anna we hoped things would proceed but as Anna got more and more frustrated and more and more insistent (tongue out, tail up and nibbles and head butts of encouragement) William was less than impressed and keen on nothing more than munching on the poplar branches and then later, the hay he found in the goat shed. So, we wait and we hope that they fall in love or at the least, lust. π
Thanks guys for the last minute plans change and for lending us William in the first place. π
ooo, good luck, Jess! I hope he sees the error of his ways! Anna is looking well! Elsie still hasn’t dropped… although her udders are so freakin big now…. but i felt a bit sorry for her so I got her a little playmate, a five week old saanen x british alpine doe kid (Bella). She is so cute, and Elsie is much happier with the company (although she’d never let the kid know that!) I am loving goat ownership!!!
How lovely. Yes we too love having our goat, despite the challenges we’ve had. I realised the other day as I stood there smiling, just how much I love it. I was mucking out Anna’s shed at the time! Keep me updated on Elsie. I shall live vicariously through you for now. π
And yes, I too hope William works it out.
Oh Lordy Jess, did you just put the following words in the same paragraph?. “Smiling, Loving it, Mucking out Anna’s Shed” You are really are becoming a feral hippy. The latte girls back in Melbourne wouldnt know you anymore. So glad you are my friend.
He he he. Yup. π
And I’m glad you’re my friend too. π
Lets hope William doesn’t bat for the other team π
Aw how cute, I wonder if goats are like rabbits and if you take the male to the doe he is just to interested in sniffing around her cage and she gets cranky and protective. Good luck with the mating, I just love goats I wish I could have one.
