You can’t hurry love

No you just have to wait.

Catch me if you can.

She said love don’t come easy.

She’s on the prowl.

It’s a game of give and take.

Tail up, tongue out. WIlliam is less than impressed.

You can’t hurry love.

Insistent cougar.

No, you just have to wait.

What do you want Miss?

You got to trust, give it time.

You’re supposed to be sniffing ME she says.

No matter how long it takes.

The guerrilla approach to catching a man. Lie in wait and POUNCE!

Now we wait. πŸ™‚

William is a Toggenburg buck on loan from fellow Ballanites Pam and Tim. He came down to visit today as Anna was being a little bit noisy which can be a sign that girl goats are in heat (fertile for impregnation) and Pam and Tim were able to oblige and bring William down to service Anna. Anna was most excited to see a buck arriving and a fine specimen of a buck he looks too. William was however, less than impressed. After a few head buts and some gentle encouragement from Anna we hoped things would proceed but as Anna got more and more frustrated and more and more insistent (tongue out, tail up and nibbles and head butts of encouragement) William was less than impressed and keen on nothing more than munching on the poplar branches and then later, the hay he found in the goat shed. So, we wait and we hope that they fall in love or at the least, lust. πŸ˜‰

Thanks guys for the last minute plans change and for lending us William in the first place. πŸ™‚

ooo, good luck, Jess! I hope he sees the error of his ways! Anna is looking well! Elsie still hasn’t dropped… although her udders are so freakin big now…. but i felt a bit sorry for her so I got her a little playmate, a five week old saanen x british alpine doe kid (Bella). She is so cute, and Elsie is much happier with the company (although she’d never let the kid know that!) I am loving goat ownership!!!

Aw how cute, I wonder if goats are like rabbits and if you take the male to the doe he is just to interested in sniffing around her cage and she gets cranky and protective. Good luck with the mating, I just love goats I wish I could have one.

  4. […] (she could do with a bit of a diet ) and if her plumpness is actually pregnancy (she did have a naughty night inΒ planned with William some time back although we saw no signs of any action) then we shall have […]
