This post filled me with possibilities and hope where at the moment mainstream media fills me with depression. These are the sort of “news” stories we all need to be sharing. Hope for the future 🙂
I saw it linked in your post and I just HAD to share it. If he can build what he’s built on the smell of an oily rag then what excuse is there for the rest of us? I LOVE his ingenius reuse of milk bags. Surely we can use milk cartons in the same way? And scrounging mango seeds to grow more mangoes? Brilliant!
I can think of no nobler reason to get thrashed than to pull yourself up out of the gutter and attempt to make your life better by using what you have learned to make a better world for yourself, your children and your community. I bet that person that attempted to thrash him in the market is most shamefaced now!
That’s such a great story, Jess! But sad someone would assume he was ‘mad’ and then beat him for being ‘mad’. I think this world needs more ‘madmen and madwomen’ and I volunteer . . . Oh, wait, already did that ages ago. Shrinking brain cells . . . 🙂

So we don’t really need 640 acres to get stuff done, eh? Hmmmm…..
Seriously, thanks so much, Jess. I’ve printed out the story to share with friends. ~ Linne
