It certainly does transform communities. I am still trying to formulate a way to start a group of permie type peeps to get together to share gardening, cooking, crafting etc. A way for people of all ages to get together and forge community on the coalface where it counts and matters. Permaculture embraces everything and is the perfect medium to communicate through. Just got to find that key 😉
Ballan has quite a community here with permies dotting the town. I’d love to see a true transition movement started up here and food growing in the streets. However, I simply don’t have the time, nor the skills to start it up. I wish the Ballan permies could meet more often but that’s life I guess.
You could always give them a bit of a nudge. I am trying to start something here but the interested people just want a little closed group that gets together. I am talking about a much bigger scale with all kinds of people getting together as and when they like with crafting, gardening etc. sharing the love. Can’t be doing with little closed groups of wine drinking stay at home mums who just want the chance to gossip 😦
