A photographic update

Here’s a quick update of what’s been happening around our little farmlet. 🙂

If it’s not a pumpkin, what is it?

I mentioned the other day about my super-sized possible pumpkins but my lack of confidence in identifying the actual Cucurbita I had grown. Was it a pumpkin? Possibly a spaghetti squash? I had planted some poorly labelled seeds (what’s the chances of me learning my lesson 😉 ) and the fruit were huge and needing slinging up but I had no idea if they were to be picked now or left to ripen over the season.

Sauerkraut and garden harvests

It’s a strange time of year when a very late winter crop and an ultra early summer crop overlaps in harvest but they have indeed done just that. 🙂

Pumpkins

My pumpkin crop has not quite eventuated as I dreamed back in November and December when I first started chucking seeds in anywhere there was space. I blame the weather.

The year that was – 2013

Much to my surprise 2013 has come to a close. And as is natural at this time of year I am reflecting over the year that was.
